Latte Art – Charming Coffee Designs
Latte Art is a trend that has become popular several years ago. The secret is simple – you have to stir espresso and steamed milk creating charming surface pattern or even design. Coffee foam art requires great skills but results are truly awesome. Today there are few international Latte Art contests where best artists (each of them is called “barista”) demonstrate their creativity and original performance. We thought that it would be a great inspiration for you people to see the collection of some of the most original examples of these amazing designs.
Wikipedia:
A barista (from the Italian for “bartender”) is a person, usually a coffee-house employee, who prepares and serves espresso-based coffee drinks.

April 8, 2010That’s amazing! It’d be so surprising to get one of those. Probably super hard to make, though.
Wonder how they’re made…

April 18, 2010the ones that take the most skill are simply poured, no drawing done, all just with the pouring of the milk into the espresso. they’ve been doing that here in Seattle for years.

April 19, 2010To clear up possible confusion and/or questions about these;
These works can be done two different ways, by hand, and others use a “printer” style design process, in which a printer will actually create the image through whatever liquid they use.
Doing these by hand take anywhere from 2-25 seconds, which is more then enough time to keep the caps/lattes hot.
Most of the hand done stuff is mostly done through the pouring process and dragging a toothpick through to create the designs.
The main issue is you can’t do these slow, otherwise the foam starts to break apart and the image dies, so it takes a quick hand when pouring/picking through the cream to make the images.
