Today we will come to know a little bit more about that British urban guerrilla artist known as Banksy. This outstanding individual emerged as a dexterous culture jammer having made a name for himself with ingenious and controversial graffiti art. What’s actually interesting is that this street artist with an international reputation has never publicly revealed his identity. Little is known for sure about Banksy’s background. He is thought to have first appeared in Bristol, UK, however his artworks have appeared throughout various locations around the world.

As for Banksy’s style, he uses a distinctive layered stenciling technique that in particular helps him work more quickly and maintain the anonymity. He scrawled and attacked city walls to contrive thought-provoking, clever works that only his brilliant mind could come up with. Banksy’s wit and dark humor basically has a purpose since he mainly scoffs at consumer culture and grave human shortcomings that just ruin beautiful places and spotless minds. Among the rest, Banksy as well created a number of exhibits and installations to point out the life’s absurdity.

Right now, we’ll kick off showcasing that incredible artworks featured on streets, walls, and bridges of cities throughout the whole world. But initially, some of his quotes to warm you up!

“People say graffiti is ugly, irresponsible and childish…but that’s only if it’s done properly” – Banksy

“We don’t need any more heroes; we just need someone to take out the recycling” – Banksy

“A lot of people never use their initiative because nobody told them to” – Banksy

“Some people want to make the world a better place. I just wanna make the world a better-looking place. If you don’t like it, you can paint over it!” – Banksy

“A lot of mothers will do anything for their children, except let them be themselves” – Banksy

Nothing in the world is more common than unsuccessful people with talent, leave the house before you find something worth staying in for” – Banksy

“T.V. has made going to the theater seem pointless, photography has pretty much killed painting but graffiti has remained gloriously unspoiled by progress” – Banksy

“People say graffiti is ugly, irresponsible and childish. But that’s only if it’s done properly” – Banksy

Nice collection of photos, but thought I would point out that quite a lot is known about Banksy if you research properly. I am from Bristol, England myself and we know it as a fact that Banksy was from here (born outside of Bristol but used to go Bristol Cathedral School). Yes, his works have appeared all over the world now, but back before he was rich enough to travel (as in, before world fame), Bristol was the only canvas he had.
